Privacy Policy — EarEffect for Chrome
This policy explains how A&M GROUP INC. ("we") handles information in the Chrome extension "EarEffect" (the "Extension"). The EarEffect Android app is covered by a separate policy (https://eareffect.web.app/privacy.html).
1. Information that stays on your computer (never sent to us)
- Tab audio: when you press the toolbar icon, the Extension takes in that tab's sound, processes it on your computer and plays it. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
- Now playing: the track title, artist, album, artwork, page title and site domain are read from the page to show in the console (Premium only). This is not sent to us.
- Settings: your preset, BOOM/ATTITUDE values, favorites, display settings, console position and language are saved in Chrome's extension storage on your computer.
- Currency: to choose the currency for prices, the Extension reads your computer's time zone and browser language. Only the resulting currency code (for example "usd") is sent to our server.
2. Signing in with Google (optional)
- When you sign in, the confirmation token (ID token) issued by Google is sent to our server to confirm who you are.
- Our server stores only a one-way substitute of your Google account number, a one-way substitute of your sign-in key, and the creation and last-use times. We do not store your email address or name.
- Your email address is kept only in your computer's extension storage to show that you are signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
- A sign-in not used for 180 days expires.
3. Buying and checking Premium
- Purchases on a computer are made on the checkout page of Stripe, Inc. Your card number, address and email are received by Stripe and never reach our server. Stripe handles them under its privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).
- To check your subscription, our server stores the Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, subscription status and period end.
- To use Premium bought in the Android app (Google Play), our server stores the Google Play purchase token with its status and expiry, and asks Google Play for the subscription status.
4. Why we use the information
- To decide whether Premium is active for your account and make it work on both your phone and computer.
- To open the checkout and subscription-management pages.
- To prevent misuse and investigate faults.
- We never use or share this information for advertising, tracking or sale.
5. Where it is kept and who helps us
- Our server runs on Google Cloud (Tokyo region). Connections to it are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Request logs (time, source IP address, response status) are kept in Google Cloud logging for a limited period to investigate faults.
- Payments use Stripe, Inc.; sign-in uses Google LLC.
6. Deletion and contact
- Signing out removes the email address and sign-in key from your computer. Removing the Extension deletes all its settings on your computer.
- To have the information on our server deleted, contact us below. If you have an active subscription, we delete it after the cancellation is processed.
